Google making Capture India in a Day, a film on India in 24 hours

Directed by Richie Mehta, film to have Ridley Scott and Anurag Kashyap as executive producers, and R Balki, Shekhar Kapur and Zoya Akhtar as creative consultants

Search giant Google is launching ‘India in a day’, a film project capturing the essence of India across 24 hours, in association with Ridley Scott, Richie Mehta and Anurag Kashyap. 

Anyone across the country can become part of the movie by shooting a video and uploading the footage on indiainaday.withgoogle.com on Saturday, October 10. The people whose footages are taken to be included in the finished film will be credited as co-director. The film is scheduled to release in 2016.

“India stands at a unique moment in its history: A time of great change, sparked by technology. The smartphone revolution has transformed every aspect of our lives, from the mundane to the profound. We are very excited to partner on this project to help showcase the story of evolving India and look forward to sharing this experience with everyone,” said Sandeep Menon, director of marketing, Google India
 
Richie Mehta will be the director of the film, while Ridley Scott and Anurag Kashyap will be executive producers. R Balki, Shekhar Kapur and Zoya Akhtar will serve as creative consultants.
