City-based Idiom Design & Consulting has developed the visual identity and branding for the 2010 Commonwealth Games scheduled to be held in New Delhi. |
The Commonwealth Games logo, the first of the series of branding, was unveiled at India Gate, New Delhi, recently. |
According to Idiom Design & Consulting President Viren Razdan, the identity design embodies a global approach with the Indian spirit, thus providing inspiration for the future generations. |
"The logo for the Delhi Commonwealth Games was inspired by the Chakra. Spiralling upwards, the logo depicts the growth of India into a proud, vibrant nation, a billion people coming together to fulfill their true destinies," he added. |
The 24 colours of the 24 spokes of the Chakra reveal the meaning of the Chakra and remind the citizens to reinforce their values like love, courage, patience and faith in the goodness of God, Razdan said. |
"Our design team was engaged in substantial research to understand the soul of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The identity for the games is rooted and deep on one hand and vibrant, and futuristic on the other," he stated. |
