HelpingDoc, a gateway for health care providers to connect to their patients, has raised Rs 10 crore in Series-A funding from Senior Marketing Systems (SMS), Singapore. The proceeds will be used to strengthen the field force and technology back-end.

The company plans to grow beyond the Delhi-NCR area into other major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai over the next 18-24 months. It also aims to scale up by four-five times and enrol about 20,000 doctors in the next two years.

Amit Bansal, founder and chief executive officer, HelpingDoc, said, "It will allow us to leverage SMS' expertise in this field, and explore synergies with SMS' investments across Asia. The funds will help us scale faster and beef internal operations, processes and systems."

Jo Hatakeyama, Director, SMS, Singapore, said, "We have been looking to invest in India, and found HelpingDoc to be well-positioned to grow in this market. The online health care industry in India is still in a nascent stage, and has the potential to grow rapidly over the next three-five years."

SMS is a strategic investor that has invested in online healthcare ventures across Asia in Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and Sri Lanka. Started in 2013, the company is based out of Singapore.
