Jet Airways mulls domestic flights from Surat

Launches first direct international flight from Ahmedabad to Abu Dhabi

In a bid to take its tally of operating points in the state of Gujarat, Jet Airways is mulling starting flight services from Surat now. The operator currently has seven operating points including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhuj, Porbandar, Diu and Bhavnagar in the state.

Looking to tap the summer travel season, Jet Airways launched its first direct international flight from Gujarat between Ahmedabad and Abu Dhabi. Effective from March 29, 2015, the service will be offered at an all inclusive introductory return fare of Rs 12500 which will be later hiked to Rs 16000.

Talking about the plans, Rajeev R Nambiar, vice president - Sales, India of Jet Airways said, "There always have been requests to start flights from Surat. We are evaluating options to start a domestic flight service from Surat. We will get back later when we finalise something."
 

As part of the airline's plan to enhance global connectivity from India's emerging metros, the introduction of this new service will allow guests to avail of multiple travel options through Abu Dhabi to destinations in Europe, North America, Africa, Middle East and the Gulf.

Jet Airways flight 9W 520 will depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad at 0500 hrs and will arrive into Abu Dhabi international airport at 0650 hrs (local time). The return flight 9W 519 will depart Abu Dhabi at 2155 hrs (LT) and arrive into Ahmedabad at 0230 hrs the following day. This flight will also be code shared by our strategic partner Etihad Airways.

Through the international flight, Jet Airways is looking to offer travelers direct seamless connectivity from Ahmedabad to Abu Dhabi with one stop connections to international destinations such as Brussels, Manchester, Dusseldorf, Dublin, Belgrade, Moscow, Milan, Frankfurt, Munich and Paris in Europe and Muscat, Riyadh, Bahrain in Gulf, with Jet Airways' strategic partner Etihad Airways and other partner airlines.
