Maytas Infra, a Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure development company, has inaugurated the Padalur–Samayapuram four-lane road on National Highway-45 in Tamil Nadu.
Union minister of shipping, road transport and highways T R Baalu dedicated the 21-kilometre-long segment of the Padalur-Trichy four-laning project on NH-45 at a function held at Samayapuram on December 7.
Padalur-Samayapuram segment has been upgraded with divided carriageway along with strengthening of the existing carriageway. One major bridge across the Uppar river, a minor bridge, and 21 culverts comprise the road stretch inaugurated by the Union minister. All these have been constructed with carriageway suited for four-lane configuration, and with 1.5-metre-wide hard shoulder and 1.0-metr-wide earthen shoulder.
Maytas Infra will be constructing the complete four-lane road from the existing two-lane section from km 285 (Padalur) to km 325 (Trichy) on NH-45. The total value of the project is Rs 190 crore, according to a Maytas press release.
The scope of work for the project include construction of the new four-lane road carriageway with flexible pavement, widening and strengthening of the existing two-carriageway, construction of around 69 cross drainage structures by widening, construction of longitudinal drains at the end of service roads and between service road and main carriageway, improvement of road junctions, and construction of toll plaza and road furniture.
