No separate security queues for business class at the Delhi airport

Triggers protest from airlines who say business class passengers pay a higher fee for such services

BS Reporter Mumbai

Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has ordered removal of separate security check counters for first class and business class passengers at Delhi airport triggering a protest from airlines.

At Delhi airport first and business class passengers queue up separately for frisking and baggage X-ray check. The BCAS has issued instructions to end the practice with a view to streamline the process.

However the move has upset the airlines and Air India has written a letter protesting against the BCAS instruction. "Business and first class passengers pay a higher fare for a reason and need special attention," said an airline executive.
