Starbucks adds two more stores in Mumbai

Starbucks entered the domestic market last October piggy-riding the Tatas and currently operates 22 stores across Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Pune

Tata Starbucks today added two new outlets in the northern suburbs of the city thus taking its tally of stores to 22.

Seattle-based Starbucks entered the domestic market last October piggy-riding the Tatas and currently operates 22 stores across Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Pune.

Tata Starbucks is a 50:50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Global Beverages and had opened its first store at the tony Horniman Circle area of south Mumbai last year.

"We are humbled by the way our customers have embraced the Starbucks experience and we remain committed to extending our unique third place in Mumbai," Tata Starbucks Chief Executive Avani Davda said in a statement.
 

The stores at Bandra and Juhu will provide a community

 Gathering place to customers where they can experience high-quality coffee, handcrafted beverages and unique food offerings, she added.

The opening of the new stores are part of the company's ongoing expansion to open 50 outlets this year. The JV partners have earmarked an investment of Rs 400 crore for the purpose.
