TCS partners with MapR Technologies to make new big data offerings

The offerings will also shift the IT cost curve for these enterprise clients

Tata Consultancy Services, the country’s largest IT company, today said it has partnered with MapR Technologies to make new big data offerings to enterprise customers which will allow them to easily and rapidly capture value from big data.
 
The offerings will also shift the IT cost curve for these enterprise clients, TCS said in a release today.
 
US-based MapR Technologies develops and sells Apache Hadoop-derived software.
 
“At TCS, we are on a mission to help our customers re-imagine their businesses by leveraging big data in combination with other digital forces to redefine their existing business models, create new data-driven products and services, redraw target segments, create new channels, and also change their business processes and workplaces,” the release said quoting Dr Satya Ramaswamy, global head of TCS Digital Enterprise.
 
 
TCS and MapR are developing turn-key solutions to address key big data challenges, such as recommendation engines, supply chain optimization and pricing analytics.
 
“Our partnership with MapR in the big data space is already delivering measurable business benefits for customers and we look forward to expanding this alliance to jointly pursue other opportunities where we have deep expertise,” said Ramaswamy.
