The Rs 13,000 crore Indian television industry is finally getting a representation on MipTV and Mipcom, the high profile international television and entertainment forums, held annually in Cannes, France.

Reed Midem, which organises the global meets, has appointed Anil Wanvari, the founder and chief executive officer of Indiantelevision.com and The Indian Telly Awards, as the representative of the Indian television industry.

Wanvari is also on the board of international television awards "" the Emmies "" conducted by the New York-based International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

"Indian films are being talked about in a big way globally. It's time the Indian television industry was spoken of in the same breath, as it generates almost four times the revenues that Indian films generate," Wanvari said.
