Karnataka clears Tumakuru NIMZ

Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday approved the setting up of the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone at Vasanthanarsapura in Tumkur district.

The project costing Rs 3,500 crore would come up on 13,327 acres, Minister for Law T B Jayachandra told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

He said 3,598 acres had been acquired. The project would generate 80,000 direct jobs and create 160,000 more indirectly, Jayachandra said.
