New train between Puri and Digha

For the convenience of passengers, the Railways have decided to introduce a new train between Puri and Digha effective from February 17.

On the inaugural run, Digha-Puri-Digha weekly express will run as a special train towards Puri. However, the regular service of 22878/22877 Puri-Digha-Puri express will commence from Puri on February 22 and from Digha it will run from February 23.

The 22878/22877 Puri-Digha-Puri weekly superfast express will leave Puri at 23:35 hrs on every Wednesday and will arrive at Digha at 09:30 hrs on the following day. In the return direction, this train will leave Digha at 17:15 hrs on every Thursday and will arrive at Puri at 03:20 hrs on the following day.

 

The weekly train will have stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jaleswar, Kharagpur, Panskura, Tamluk and Kanthi between the source and the destination.

Earlier in this month the Railways have introduced tri-weekly Duronto express between Sealdah and Puri. The 22202 Puri-Sealdah Duronto tri-weekly express will leave Puri on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 19:50 hrs and will arrive at Sealdah at 04:00 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, 22201 Sealdah-Puri the express will leave Sealdah on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 20:00 hrs and will arrive at Puri at 04:00 hrs the next day.
