The Government of Tamil Nadu has reduced the Local Body Entertainment Tax (LBET) from 10 per cent imposed on movies in addition to the Goods and Services Tax (GST), to 8 per cent, paving way for the Diwali movies to be released on time. The government has also agreed to increase the ticket tariff, according to theatre owners.
