Jayalalithaa claims credit for water desalination projects in Chennai

Comes down heavily on Dayanidhi Maran and DMK for the alleged corruptions and scams

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary J Jayalalithaa has said that her government has been working towards meeting the future demand for water in the city, through setting up desalination plants.

She said that a Rs 1,000 crore water desalination project is under progress, while another project for a 400 million litre a day capacity is in the pipeline. She was speaking in one of the several election campaign meetings held in various parts of Chennai, today.

Speaking in Chennai, where in one of the constituencies former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran is contesting under the DMK flag, she alleged that Maran was the Minister who initiated the 2G spectrum corruption. She also criticised DMK and Congress for the alleged corruption and inflation in the recent past.

 

She also elaborated various welfare schemes and measures taken by the State government in the last three years.
