The producer of several award winning short films Shrihari Sathe addressed a press conference at the 45th IFFI in Goa today. His film ' Ek Hazarachi Note' has been screened at the film which is his directorial debut and is selected for the competition corner.
The director said that the film, which has the setting of a remote village of Vidharbha region of Maharashtra is a social satire. He said that he is honoured by the selection of his film for the competition corner, more so because the competition category includes both national and international films.
The film is in Marathi language but has universal content and could have been made in any context, explained Sathe. He said that this is his first film in India and he will take it to larger audiences within the country by showcasing it at the Film Festivals in other states like Kerala, Chennai and Bengaluru.
Sathe, who has mostly worked on films abroad, said that this is his first film in India, and going by his wonderful experience here, he is very much interested in working in different regions and producing films in different languages.
