Rajiv Gandhi Aviation University to Commence Session in FY 2016-17
The Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy Complex, Fursatganj, Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to commence its academic session in FY 2016-17. The university was planned as an autonomous body under the administrative control of Ministry of Civil Aviation with the aim to facilitate and promote aviation studies, teaching, training, research and extension work with focus on emerging areas of studies such as aviation management, aviation regulation and policy, aviation history, aviation science and engineering, aviation law, aviation safety and security, aviation medicine, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous goods, environmental studies and other related fields. The university is being set up at an estimated cost of Rs. 202 crores in the first phase. The building construction has started. Various formalities like setting up of a Steering Committee, creation of posts of Vice Chancellor and Project Director have already been completed.
