Secret budget cited 4,000 NSA leaks

The latest disclosures provided new details from a classified $52.6 billion "black budget" document for 2013 obtained from Snowden

A news account based on secret intelligence budget files provided by National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden says that the surveillance agency warned in 2012 that it planned to investigate up to 4,000 reports of possible internal security breaches.

The Washington Post report released today said the NSA's concerns about insider threats were aimed at "anomalous behaviour" of agency employees with access to top secret data.

The Post released only 17 pages of the entire 178-page budget document, citing concerns about compromising intelligence sources and methods.

The latest disclosures provided new details from a classified $52.6 billion "black budget" document for 2013 obtained from Snowden.

The NSA's portion of the secret budget was $10.5 billion in 2013, but it was outstripped by the CIA's $14.7 billion.
