BJP, TDP formally joins hands to fight LS polls in Andhra

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Sunday formally entered in an alliance for Andhra Pradesh to fight the upcoming Lok Sabha polls together.

The two parties also finalized their seat sharing agreement for Andhra Pradesh. According to the agreement, the BJP will contest on 5 Lok Sabha seats in Seemandhara and 8 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.

Addressing the media, TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu said, "Modi is a development man. Irrespective of religion, region and communities, Modi is being supported. Our goal is Congress free India and corruption free India."

"Our aim is to provide a stable and efficient Government and honest administration. I am confident that the NDA will end up with 300-plus Lok Sabha seats," added Naidu who was accompanied by BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar, BJP leader Piyush Goyal and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) co-convenor and Shiromani Akali Dal MP, Naresh Gujral.
