Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that he is confident that the Chhattisgarh Government will be successful in securing the state from the Maoist threat, assuring that the Centre will provide whatever assistance necessary for the same.
"I am happy in the way the Chhattisgarh government is working to rid the state of Naxals and the Centre will provide all assistance to the state government in their endeavours and I am sure that the state government will be successful in securing the region from Maoist attacks," Rajnath Singh said on a vist to Chintagufa village of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. He was accompanied by the state's chief minister Raman Singh.
"I am confident that the state government will be successful in helping the districts plagued by Maoists in developing, and the Centre will help them in this. I also call on all tribals to give the Centre a chance to develop their areas and appeal to them to refrain from violence," he added.
Earlier in the day, Rajnath Singh inaugurated a fortified police station in the Dronapal village of the Dantewada district in the state.
