At least four people were killed and seven others left injured after a landslide occurred in the wee hours of Saturday near Ardhkuwari Temple, which lies in the mid of Vaishno Devi Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir's Katra District.

Two out of the seven injured persons have been brought to Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital.

Ajit Kumar Sahu, CEO, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, said the landslide occurred after rainfall.

"Our team went to the site as soon as the incident was reported to us," he said. Sahu further said that they always try to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.

Yesterday, two people, including a ten-year-old Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrim, were injured after boulders hit them in the temple area.

Heavy rains usually result in landslides on roads leading to Bhawan in Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
