Nairobi's Westgate Mall is set to re-open on Saturday, nearly two years after a deadly attack carried out by Al Shabab militants killed at least 67 people and led to a four-day siege by security forces.

Governor Evans Kidero toured the mall, which has been largely refurbished since the attack, on Tuesday, reported News24.

Four militants entered the mall on September 21, 2013 and opened fire on civilians. The structure was left in shambles, with bullet-scarred walls and shattered windows.

The gunmen died later after inhaling smoke from a fire that collapsed part of the building.
