Michael Clarke has targeted his rehabilitation programme with such determination that the medical staff is already convinced and Australian selectors have said that the skipper is fit and ready to meet his February 21 deadline.
Clarke would take charge of the Australian squad in Saturday's World Cup clash against Bangladesh in Brisbane to meet his strict February 21, which was announced back in mid-January, deadline for proving his fitness.
Following hamstring surgery in late December, Clarke committed himself to an exhaustive 12-hour daily rehabilitation schedule, but now his weeks of training on his own are over, News.com.au reported.
With three practice games, two half-centuries and some bowling overs under his belt, Clarke has already convinced medical staff and selectors claim that he's fit and ready.
Fielding has reportedly been the biggest question mark over Clarke, however coach Darren Lehmann has already indicated the skipper should get through those drills without problem.
Meanwhile, there are no issues with his batting or bowling, in fact Clarke would be called upon to roll the arm over and assist Glenn Maxwell with the spin overs in the World Cup, the report added.
