At least 18 suspected militants were killed in a U.S. drone attack in Pakistan's North Waziristan today.

The drone attacks came amid Pakistan's army's ongoing operation against the Taliban.

The unmanned aerial strike in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan early on Wednesday targeted a suspected hideout and a vehicle.

Eye witnesses said at least four missiles were fired by the drones, which also left four others injured.

This is the second drone attack in Pakistan ever since the Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched by the country's army, a month ago in the tribal areas.

The Pakistani security forces also arrested Adnan Rashid, a key leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP from South Waziristan on Tuesday.

Rashid, a former air force engineer and leading figure in the Taliban ranks is accused in many high profile cases including an assassination attempt on former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

Rashid is also the highest ranked TTP operative who has been arrested during the ongoing crackdown, which has killed more than 400 Taliban militants, according to army reports.
