Even as West Bengal continues to grapple with rise in crime against women, a minor girl has complained of sexual exploitation by several people, police said Tuesday.

"The complainant, who is a minor, has alleged that she was forcibly kept in a house and was repeatedly raped and sexually exploited by a group of people including a woman," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Satyajit Banerjee.

While no arrests have been made so far since Sunday when the complaint was filed, Banerjee said police were looking into the victim's allegation of complicity of several lawyers and even policemen in the crime.

The complainant, who had left her family some time ago, was living with a woman at her house who allegedly subjected the minor to sexual exploitation.

The allegation comes shortly after a French woman was chased by bike-borne assailants July 14.

The woman - a trainee at the Alliance Francaise du Bengale - was allegedly forced to take refuge behind taxis and construction materials, besides scaling the gate of an apartment complex to save herself from the tormentors.

Earlier Sunday, a 25-year-old woman received serious injuries after she jumped off a moving train to save herself from molestation. The woman now is recuperating in a city nursing home.

The state recently has witnessed a spate of crime against women including rape and murder. The National Crime Records Bureau has put Bengal atop the country concerning crime against women with as many as 30,942 such incidents reported in Bengal in 2012.
