Indian actor Raju Shrestha, who is currently in Iran for the Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF), says he is "honoured" to represent his country at an international event.

"I am extremely honoured to represent India at such a prominent event likes Fajr International Film Festival. This cross-cultural event makes one meet some of the finest artist, producers, and directors of the world cinema, which is an achievement in itself," Raju, who has appeared in films like "Chitchor", "Kitaab" and "Bawarchi", said in a statement.

"I am really looking forward to watch some great movies, learn from them and enjoy the whole art of cinema," he added.

The 33rd edition of FIFF, which started on April 25, brings together about 73 countries across the globe to a common platform of cinema. Over 300 films have be submitted to the festival.

Raju went to the festival after he received a special invitation from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Iran.

The international section of FIFF will open at Tehran's Mellat Cinema Complex on Thursday. The festival will end on May 2.
