At least two people, including the co-pilot, were killed after a small passenger plane crash-landed near an airport in Malaysia's Borneo state of Sabah Thursday, authorities said.
The co- pilot and a passenger succumbed to their injuries at the hospital while one person was in critical conditions, Xinhua reported.
The Twin Otter plane of MasWings, a regional airline of the national carrier Malaysia Airlines, was flying from the state capital Kota Kinabalu to the Kudat Area with 16 passengers and crew members on board, the air carrier said in a statement.
An earlier statement said "the aircraft landed short of the runway in Kudat".
Officials said the plane plunged into a residence house near the airport before all 16 on board people were rescued.
The cause of the accident was being probed, the Malaysian Airlines said.
