Bayern Munich stomped into the last-four as they turned around a 3-1 first-leg loss by outclassing Porto 6-1 on home soil, at the second-leg of the Champions League's quarterfinals on Tuesday, a media report said on Wednesday.

Despite suffering a 3-1 first leg loss to Porto, Bayern kept their nerves by crushing Porto 6-1 on home soil. The German giants sealed the deal with five first-half goals to flabbergast the visitors from Portugal, who were only able to score their consolation in the closing period, Xinhua reported.

The hosts caught a fairy tale start into the game as Robert Lewandowski rattled the right post with just ten minutes into the game before Juan Bernat crossed into the box to Thiago Alcantara, who headed home at the near post, breaking the deadlock just four minutes later.

Bayern increased the pressure and doubled the lead when Jerome Boateng headed home a flicked on corner to stun the visitors at the 22nd minute. The "Bavarians" gained momentum and Lewandowski tripled the lead only five minutes later following a volley assist by Thomas Mueller.

Mueller was again in the thick of things when his deflected long-range shot off Bruno Indi made it 4-0 on the scoreboards at the 36th minute. It is Mueller's sixth goal of the current Champions League season and his 27th overall in Europe's club elite competition, making him the best German goal getter.

The hosts were not done with the scoring at the first half as Bayern striker Lewandowski wrapped up his brace when he tapped in Mueller's square pass at the 40th minute to make it 5-0. It is the first time that a team scored five first half time goals in a UEFA Champions League knockout encounter.

Porto showed a vital sign after the restart when Jackson Martinez' 7th goal of the season marked merely the consolation for his side, who got outplayed by the German record champions within 45 minutes.
