A swarm of bees today stung at least 12 students and teachers of a government-run primary school in Odisha's Kendrapara district, causing minor injuries to them, an education official said.
The incident happened at Chatara-Chakada primary school in Derabish block in the district this morning, the headmaster of the school, Niranjan Pati, said.
A swarm of bees, all of a sudden, entered various classrooms and attacked students and teachers, Pati said.
The bees left the school premises after villagers chased the swarm with smoking torches, the principal of the school said.
Classes were suspended for the day since the children were scared to go back to the classrooms, he added.
