18 IAS officers promoted as secretaries, special secretaries

Eighteen senior IAS officers have been promoted as Secretaries and Special Secretaries by upgrading the post held by them.

Those appointed as Secretaries are Jatinder Bir Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, Punjab and Sind Bank, and Asha Ram Sihag, Secretary, Union Public Service Commission. The post of Secretary UPSC is of additional secretary-level and it has been temporarily upgraded, an order issued today by Department of Personnel and Training said.

Injeti Srinivas, Director General, Sports Authority of India, has been appointed in the rank and pay of Secretary.

Alka Panda, Director General of Bureau of Indian Standards, and Anjali Prasad, Ambassador, World Trade Organisation, have also been appointed in the rank and pay of Secretary, it said.
 

Those appointed as Special Secretaries are Yudhvir Singh Malik, working as Additional Secretary, NITI Ayog, Dinesh Sharma, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Bhagwati Prasad Pandey, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power and Rajani Ranjan Rashmi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, the order said.

Besides them, Arun Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Jagdish Prasad Meena, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Preeti Sudan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, K P Krishnan, Additional Secretary, Department of Land Resources and Sanjeevanee Kutty, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in Home Ministry have been promoted as Special Secretary in the same departments.

Senior bureaucrats Seema Bahuguna, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Rural Development, Bharati S Sihag, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Steel and R Sridharan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines, have also been promoted as Special Secretary, it said.
