Aluminium prices inched up by 0.89 per cent to Rs 135.70 per kg in futures market today as speculators built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from the spot market on uptick in demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March hardened by Rs 1.20, or 0.89 per cent to Rs 135.70 per kg in business turnover of 1,268 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in April was enquired higher by Rs 1.05, or 0.77 per cent to Rs 136.85 per kg in 368 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to improved demand in the physical market mainly led to the rise in aluminium prices at futures trade.
