Another big cat found dead within a week in Nainital

A tiger was today found dead in Tarai West forest division of Ramnagar in the second such incident in Nainital district in less than a week.

The putrefying carcass of a seven-year-old tiger was recovered by forest guards in Shiv Nath forest block of Aam Pokhera range this morning, DFO Rahul said.

The death seems to have occurred two-three days ago, he said.

A postmortem is being conducted to ascertain the cause of the tiger's death, he said, adding that action will be taken as per the guidelines of National Tiger Conservation Authority against anyone found responsible for its death.
 

The decomposed carcass of a two-and-a-half-year-old tigress was found near a water body at the Corbett National Park in Nainital district on May 27.
