Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said that aquaculture would be leading employment generator surpassing the infotech sector.
Inaugurating the third edition of Aqua Aquaria India 2015 here, Naidu said his government would evolve an aquaculture policy.
He asked officials and farmers to adopt the best technology and seeds to improve production so that the sector could contribute Rs 2 lakh crore to the state's gross domestic product by 2029.
He also exhorted them to achieve a ten-fold increase in production in ten years to make the state the country's leading one in aquaculture.
