Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed the preparations for the four-day Progressive Punjab Agriculture Summit starting February 16 next year.
Badal asked officials of various departments to ensure proper arrangements were made for the summit to be held at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial at Chappar Chiri near Mohali where more than 15,000 progressive farmers, agriculture experts and representatives of various companies related to agriculture were scheduled to take part.
As farming was no longer a profitable occupation, emphasis would be laid on making farmers aware about diversification of crops, and asked the officials to get suggestions of farmers during the summit.

The Chief Minister also asked the officials to make arrangements for boarding and lodging of farmers participating in the summit, so that they do not face any problem.
Asking the officials to make the summit a success, Badal emphasised that thrust should be laid for the development of Dairy and other allied sectors also.
