The body of a 8-year-old girl, who went missing three days ago, was recovered from Kharkhai river in Seraikela-Kharswan district today.
A group of shepherds spotted the body of the minor girl, Tanu Mishra, in the river near Transport colony and informed the police.
The police has called the family members, who had lodged missing report three days ago, to identify the body after a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Asked about the possibility of a rape and murder by unidentified accused, Officer-in-charge of the police station, Amarjeet Prasad said the body has been sent for post-mortem and would be able to comment only after receiving the post-mortem report.
The victim girl, a native of Bihar's Saharsa, had come to his paternal uncle's place when she went missing while playing in front of her house in Kuluptanga locality three days ago, the police said.
Meanwhile, resentment prevailed in the locality following the recovery of the body and people in large number gheraoed the police station demanding arrest of the culprits.
