Environment Minister Anil Dave today mooted the idea of "Climate Green Responsibility" on the lines of Corporate Social Responsibility, which will help finance initiatives in the field of climate change.
"Can we think of Climate Green Responsibility? Any company or corporate earning gross or net profit can contribute towards this fund (which can be maintained by) either the UN or the relevant country for activities in the field of climate change," he while addressing the World Sustainable Development Summit being organised by TERI here.
"We will have to strengthen the UN as an organisation. Every country must have a corpus for this. Otherwise, it is very difficult to address issues pertaining to climate change without finance," he said.

Dave also underlined the importance of Gandhian philosophy in the fight against climate change.
"The answer to climate change lies in the way of life (one leads). That is why India has ratified the Paris Agreement. It was Mahatma Gandhi who had shown the world how one can live with minimum carbon footprints. We need to follow that example.
