A delegation led by PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss today met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and demanded that the NDA government should not toe the line which was adopted by the previous UPA regime on issues concerning Sri Lanka.

"NDA should change its policy towards Sri Lanka and should not follow the line of the previous UPA government," Ramadoss said following the meeting with Swaraj.

Stating that the reports on NDA's approach towards Sri Lankan affairs had come as a shocker for Tamil Nadu, Ramadoss said the Centre should take the necessary steps to ensure the well-being of Lankan Tamils.

The PMK leader, whose party is part of the NDA alliance, said that Swaraj has assured that the Centre understands the problems of Tamils in the neighbouring island nation.
