Explosive chemical used for making crackers burst into flames and razed to ground the store room at a private fireworks factory at Kayalpatti in the district today.
Police said no one was injured.
The workers who were mixing the chemicals saw smoke coming from the "highly dried chemical" and left the room.
Soon the chemical exploded and the shed and store room were brought down in the impact.
