Five persons were killed today when the car, in which they were travelling in, collided head-on with a private bus near here, police said.
The accident took place this morning when the car collided with a private luxury bus coming from opposite direction on Tarapur-Vataman highway in Tol village of the district, around 37 kms from here, sub-inspector, Tarapur police station P S Gadhvi said.
The deceased were identified as Anand Upadhyay (42), Pradip Joshi (35), Sanjay Chaudhari (27), Rajendra Parmar (36) and Govind Chaudhari (25).

"All the deceased were from Vadodara. Upadhyay was a businessman, and four others went to Rajkot in his car last week and were returning to Vadodara today, when their car rammed into the bus head-on," Gadhvi said.
All the passengers in the car died on the spot and bodies were pulled out using a crane, he said adding, bodies were sent for post mortem.
The deceased were identified from their identity cards and mobile phones recovered from the car, police informed the relatives of the deceased.
A case has been registered against the unidentified bus driver, who fled from spot immediately after the accident, police said.
