Four killed in gas-cylinder explosion in Muzaffarnagar

Four persons, including three children, were killed and as many seriously injured in an apparent gas-cylinder explosion that ripped off the roof of a house in Charthawal town here today, police said.

A gas cylinder caught fire and exploded, ripping off the roof of the house. Some neighbouring houses were also damaged in the incident.

Four killed are Yasmin (26), seven months old Ali Hasan, Nasima and another child, believed to be under five years of age. Four injured were rushed to hospitals in critical condition, they said.

Police and fire brigade teams are carried out rescue operation.

Fire crackers have been found in the house. It was immediately not clear whether they led to the explosion.
