Gamesa bags 40 MW wind energy project from ReNew Power

Wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has bagged a 40 MW wind energy project, to be set up in Karnataka, with clean energy company ReNew Power.

As part of the agreement signed with ReNew Power, Gamesa would supply 20 G97-2.0MW T-104m turbines for installation at Lingsagur site in Karnataka.

It would be the third project in Karnataka for ReNew Power which operates close to 70 MW of wind power in the region.

"We are delighted to win yet another order from ReNew Power which further cements the trust we enjoy with our esteemed customers and bears testimony to our innovation and technological capabilities...", Gamesa Renewable CMD Ramesh Kymal said in a statement.
 

The turnkey project is scheduled to be commissioned by March, 2016.

"ReNew Power is pleased to be associated with Gamesa as our partner for developing this project in Karnataka. Furthermore, ReNew Power is committed to local community and through holistic development initiatives...", ReNew Power Chairman Sumant Sinha said.

Over the past 12 years, Gamesa has installed over 20,000 MW of 2.0 MW platform in 34 countries.
