The white staff wielded by actor Ian McKellen's character Gandalf in 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy has been sold at 245,000 pounds at an auction.
The intricate staff was tipped to fetch around 15,000 pounds but auctioneers were stunned when bidding stopped at more than 16 times that amount, reported the Daily Mirror.
The auction, held by Profiles in History in California, also featured the crown worn by Mark Addy in his role as Robert Baratheon in 'Game of Thrones' which sold for 19,000 pounds.
A prison shirt worn by Steve McQueen in 'The Great Escape' went for 31,000 pounds, while Robin Williams' Mork outfit sold for 12,000 pounds.
