HC directs police to file statement on Satnam Singh's death

Kerala High Court today directed police to file a statement regarding details of investigation relating to death of Satnam Singh, who was taken into custody for creating disturbance at the Mata Amritanandamayi mutt in Kollam on Aug 1, 2012.

The direction in this regard was issued by Justice K Ramakrishnan on a petition filed by Harmindar Kumar singh, seeking CBI probe into his son's death.

During the course of hearing, Public Prosecutor admitted that there were some 'omissions' in the investigation.

Satnam Singh, a law student was taken into custody for creating some disturbance at the Mata Amritanandamayi mutt at Kollam on Aug 1, 2012. He died three days later at a mental health centre amid allegations of torture.
 

The case diary containing 3000 pages were handed over to the court.

Meanwhile, CBI informed the court its unwillingess to take over investigation of the case.

The case has been posted to April 8.
