The Indian Staffing Industry is estimated at USD 4.5 billion, and is the fourth largest in the world after USA, China and Japan.
According to Indian Staffing Federation (ISF), the apex body for flexi staffing industry in India, with 2.1 million flexi workers, India being 4th largest in the world, and soon would be the third in the world by 2018.
As the federation crosses its first threshold of 5 years, ISF is now planning to work more closely with state governments.

DLF gets Leed certification for office bldgs in Chennai IT-SEZ
Realty major DLF today said it has received green building certification for nine office towers in its IT-SEZ at Chennai.
"DLF Cybercity Chennai has been awarded 'LEED Platinum Certification' for all 9 office buildings under the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Rating System by the US Green Building Council," DLF said in an statement.
LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) is a green building certification programme that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices.
With this, DLF's 26 office buildings, including 12 in Gurgaon, have been certified with LEED certification.
DLF's CEO (Rental Business) Sriram Khattar said: "DLF Cybercity is a testament of our commitment towards creating healthier and more productive workplaces, firmly focused on reducing both operating costs and impact on the environment."
DLF has a commercial portfolio of about 32 million sq ft and it expects to earn an annual rental income of Rs 2,700 crore this financial year.

Irani to inaugurate India International Silk Fair
* Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani will inaugurate the India International Silk Fair in New Delhi on Saturday.
India is the second largest producer of silk in the world, and the only country which produces all major varieties of silk, namely, Mulberry, Tasar, Eri and Muga.
It is expected to generate a business of over USD 50 million for SMEs engaged in producing silk and silk blended garments, fabrics, accessories and floor coverings.
The fair is being organised by the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council, which is sponsoring the visit of around 100 buyers from overseas countries, to interact with exhibitors of silk and silk blended products that are manufactured in various parts of the country and exported globally.

Airtel offers speed of up to 100 mbps on new tech to all users * Airtel today announced speed of upto 100 megabit per second for all new and existing broadband subscribers who opt to use its new technology 'V-fiber' without change in pricing of plans.
"Existing customers can upgrade to 'V-Fiber' speeds within same plan at no extra charge. Modem charges will be fully refunded if a customer is not satisfied within the 1st month of service," Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
Customers opting for V-Fiber based broadband service will need to buy a new modem for about Rs 1,000. Existing customers will also need to replace their present modem by paying Rs 1,000 for new modem to avail high speed, an Airtel spokesperson said.
Airtel is offering three month free trial of V-Fiber to new customers and also made pan-India unlimited voice calling free on plans starting Rs 1,299.
