Union Steel and Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today assured all possible help to develop steel industry and mining sector in Jharkhand.
In a meeting with Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Tomar discussed matters pertaining to reviving closed steel industries and mines and development of new steel industry and mining works and a new steel freight corridor, which would reduce 100 km distance, an official release said here.
Discussions were also held on extraction of coking coal through new technique to meet steel industry requirement and there would be coordination among the coal ministry, the steel ministry and the state government.

Tomar said all possible help would be provided to develop steel industry and mining in Jharkhand and the state could contact him anytime in this regard.
Divisional Commissioner Amit Khare, Chief Minister's secretary Sunil Kumar Burnwal and Director (Mines) S P Negi were present on the occasion.
Tomar said, besides a new success has risen in India's foreign relations under the leadership of Modi, several new initiatives were taken during the last two years.
Saying that Swachch Bharat Mission has taken a new spirit in the country, Tomar said lakhs of people responded to the Prime Minister's call and a new spirit grew in the country.
Make in India, Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, Skill India Mission and several other yojanas have also been successful, he added.
