JKNPP demands dismissal of Omar govt, protests in Udhampur

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today held a protest dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) office at Udhampur and demanded dismissal of the Omar Abdullah-led government in the state.

Activists of JKNPP led by its state president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia also blocked the National Highway for more than five hours.

At around 11 am party workers gathered at Slathia Chowk and took out a procession, which passed through different markets before reaching the DC office.

Addressing a gathering, Mankotia said the state government failed to protect the life and property of people and demanded immediate dismissal of the Omar government.
 

He also demanded for continuation of the Machail Yatra which was suspended by the state government recently and said strict action should be taken against those who attacked the Yatris.
