The Joka-BBD Bag Metro project will take three years to complete once land is acquired, Metro Railway General Manager Radhey Shyam said here today.
"The timeframe is three years after acquisition of land. We don't know how long will it take to solve these land issues," Shyam said at an interactive session of MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said they were hopeful of resolving issues and some progress was made after meeting state government officials.
Another issue was clearance from the Ministry of Defence as land at the Maidan area belonged to the Army.
"We are hopeful that the issue will get sorted out," the General Manager said.
On the East-West Metro Rail connecting Salt Lake with Sealdah, Shyam said the work has started and was likely to be ready by June 2018.
