Press Trust of India Lucknow
A day after Allahabad High Court rapped the Uttar Pradesh government for its failure to contain the dengue menace, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed officials to launch a campaign in every district of the state to check the disease.

At a meeting held at his official residence, he also directed the formation of a high level committee under Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar to monitor the situation.

Not satisfied with the Uttar Pradesh government's action on dengue prevention, yesterday the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has summoned the state's chief secretary on October 27.

The court has also asked him as to why action should not be taken against the state government as per the constitutional provisions as it could not discharge its duties in this matter.
