Even as life remained paralysed in Kashmir for the 60th day, the separatists today extended the shutdown call in the Valley till September 16.

They also issued a protest calendar in which people have been urged to march towards the local office of the UN Military Observers' Group on Eid-ul Azha on September 12 for submitting a memorandum.

The joint separatist camp also asked the 'Imams' and Khateebs (preachers) to read out messages for continuing the agitation and boycotting all mainstream political parties and leaders, elections, election rallies and election machinery.

They asked the people to celebrate Eid-ul Azha with austerity and jointly offer sacrificial animals and have joint community lunch.

The announcement about extension of the shutdown call beyond September 16 came even as the life has been paralysed in the Valley for the last 60 days.
