Litterateur Debesh Roy was today conferred with the prestigious Syed Mustafa Siraj Academy Award 2015.
The award was handed over to Roy by Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay, another noted author who was the first recipient of this award, at a function held here.
Prof Barendu Mondal delivered a memorial lecture while author Amar Mitra spoke on the literary genius of Roy, who became the third recipient of the award.
Atin Bandyopadhyay received the award last year.
Author Dibyendu Palit and other eminent personalities were present on the occasion.
