A man was today sentenced life imprisonment till death by a local court today for raping and murdering an eight-year-old three years ago.
Additional District and Session Judge-cum-Special Judge (Atrocities against Women) Satyaprakash Sinha had convicted Arvind Vishal alias Teda of the crime on Tuesday and pronounced the quantum of sentence today.
While Vishal was sentenced to life imprisonment under section 302 IPC and an additional term of six months if he failed to pay Rs 10,000 fine, he was sentenced to imprisonment till death in the jail under section 376 A.

He was also sentenced to seven years imprisonment under section 201 of IPC and one month additional imprisonment if he failed to pay a fine of Rs 1000.
Vishal had lured the girl while she was playing in front of her house with her friends February 26, 2013.
When she did not return home, her parents launched a search and her body was spotted by her mother in a well the next day.
An FIR was lodged by her parents and the police arrested the man from his house.
