A public meeting organised at DU by the left backed All India Students Association (AISA) was allegedly disrupted by the members of RSS student wing ABVP who also "roughed" up few members of the former group.
Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) president Amit Tanwar, an ABVP nominee, denied any allegations of attacking students or disrupting the meeting.
"ABVP members led by Tanwar entered the meet venue and tore down the posters and the pamphlets. They also attacked our DU unit's president Kawalpreet Kaur and stopped Kavita Krishnan from speaking and police had to cancel the event," Sunny Kumar, an AISA activist alleged.

The event titled "Idea of university" was organised by in support of ongoing movements for freedom of expression in various campuses across the country and in solidarity with the missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed.
Police officials, however, denied that the event was cancelled.
"We did not cancel any event. Police was present at the spot when AISA and ABVP supporters were indulging in slogan shouting. We tried to intervene when the slogan shouting was intensified by the groups and we feared altercation," a senior police official said.
